2017 Sailing School

There are only two colours to paint a boat, black and white, and only a fool would chose black.
~ Nathaniel G Herreshoff

We are looking forward to another great Sailing School Season during the summer of 2017. Our RYC Regatta will be held the weekend of August 12/13th.

We hope to welcome many returning students, as well as new sailors, to join our RYC Summer Sailing Program, to make for another successful year!

It promises to be another fun summer on the beautiful Kennebecasis River. So act early to guarantee a place! Our goals continue to be threefold:

  • Promote the sport of sailing through education
  • Encourage the development of the youth of our area
  • Build the RYC Junior Sailing Program into one of the very best in the country.

RYC has adopted the CANSail program. In addition, 420 boats will be supplied by the club for CANSail 5&6 or you may bring your own dinghy.

Sailors and Parents

CANSail means more time on the water, and sailors have more fun and learn skills that match their age and development stage. CANSail is designed to get sailors excited about sailing and promote sailing as a lifelong sport. It focuses on core skills that are developed throughout the 6 levels that allow sailors to progress in any type of boat.

Coaches and Instructors

Every current and trained coach has taken an online CANSail module as well as participated in a 1/2 day clinic.

To all those interested in sailing schools, here's a list of essential items you'll need to participate in any of the schools this summer.

Sailing is a great sport - it breeds confidence, develops personal skills, is very affordable, and is open to any child age 7 and over. So...are you or your children interested in being part of our plans for this year? If you are, you'll find all the details you need on our Application Information page.

Please complete and mail the application form to the address on the form. You should do so as soon as possible, as some of the classes fill up early and fast!

If you require any additional information, or have comments or complaints, please contact Dave Wells at dmfadwells@gmail.com.
