Dave grew up in a family of enthusiastic sailors. He began sailing school at age 10 and by age 15 was racing lasers and teaching. Brendan MacNeil. Instructor.

Hi! I’m Brendan MacNeil, an 18 year old sailing and teaching enthusiast currently studying finance at Acadia University. I started sailing by being introduced to it through a YMCA summer camp at the age of 12 and was instantly hooked (how couldn’t I be). There was something about the freedom of the open water and feeling and using the wind to fly me across the river that I became obsessed with. The next summer I began sailing at RYC in 2012 and loved it so much that I sailed all summer every summer until I completed by CANSail 5 in 2014. After that I knew I had to become an instructor so I could pass on my personal passion and learned knowledge of sailing on to others for them to enjoy and come to love. It is my pleasure to do that this summer and I know it will be a great season.
